Black Friday has again shown how proper capacity planning is required to ensure organizations do not miss out on business and possibly cause damage to their (online) reputation as well.

Two that I looked at today were Argos and Tesco, both had problems with getting on to the site, taking people to a holding page, which shows that they were at least thinking about the possible capacity issues but when trying to get on to the Game website it was the typical slow response that eventually timed out.

There is little point having Black Friday deals if it is not possible to access them !
